My name is Bela Day and I’m a world traveller, writer, and watercolour artist. Born in Poland and raised in Canada, I have lived and worked in Australia, South Africa, Indonesia, Mexico, Bolivia, New Zealand, Peru, and Laos.

While I currently live in Ontario, Canada, I have travelled to 41 countries while working as a communications advisor for non-profits around the globe. In early 2020, when the world shut down, I picked up a brush and paints just before the lockdown. I decided to paint my travels and share my stories on Instagram to keep the spirit of travel alive and surround myself with beauty and creativity.

My love of travel inspires me to paint landscapes and architecture from around the world. I also love to create customizable stamp and Polaroid-style paintings for clients who want to look back on their trips and special moments.

My botanical series explores the beauty of living things, giving special attention to small details that we tend to overlook. This appreciation of the small but significant things in life is expressed through beautifully written captions within the painting, evoking art from vintage botanical books. However, instead of sharing commonly known facts, I write thoughtful descriptions that remind us of the way in which we are connected to the natural world.

I also a paint memorial pieces of loved ones who have passed on and thoughtful gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, and other special occasions.
